Hi Evan,

I really don't know how to respond to your questions. I'm not comfortable
at this point speaking for the wmass imc, whatever that may or may not be-
that was the whole point of me bowing out of the finance list. I am
copying the main wmass discussion list on this- maybe others who feel
strongly one way or another will chime in with some input.

I see our situation this way: we haven't had an in-person organizing
meeting in several months, have not managed to put up a website that
corresponds to the other imc's models, and have had little to no input on
most discussion items even on our email discussion lists, for months.

On the other hand, we have a discussion list on which a dedicated &
energetic few post (text) news items. That list, like all our others, is
of course archived, so in a sense, people can self-publish text-based news
and read it either on the list, or thru the archives on the wmass imc
website. There is also a wiki found on our website (or is it "there are
wikis?") though I've not used or contributed to that aspect so I know
nothing about it. And there are a number of local individuals who were
actively organizing and/or attending wmass meetings when we were having
them, who continue to be contributing to other imcs and/or global projects
of various sorts.

So I don't know who among those who identified as being part of the wmass
collective would feel we are active, and who would feel we are not
active. At the same time I removed myself from the finance group, I
withdrew as one of the moderators of our wmass discussion lists, and that
provoked some comments to the effect that not everyone thinks we are
defunct. Personally, what we have currently is not the model I think of
when I think imc, it has been several months with little activity, and
after receiving little to no response when bringing global finance issues
back to the wmass group for input, I didn't want to continue in the
"liaison" role- I thought it was an inaccurate representation.

Finally, as to your comments that questions about our status have been met
with silence and/or angry emails, I am confused and surprised by that
news. I subscribe to all the wmass lists except tech, (and until recently,
was one of the moderators), my phone number has been used for contact info,
and with the exception of 2 or 3, I was at every main organizing meetings
from the start of the effort in the fall of '01. And I don't recall seeing
or hearing about any such questions being posed to our collective, or being
replied to.

So as I said at the outset of this message, I don't know what all this
means in terms of your questions. Maybe others from wmass will chime in
with some input which points more clearly in some direction or another.

-Amber
