[New-imc] New IMC Applications being sent to this list

hi friends and local imc liaisons,

this is just a quick email to let you know that the New IMC Working 
Group (who oversee the applications of local collectives wanting to 
join the Indymedia network) is going to be sending our applications 
to this list as well as imc-process.  historically, our process was 
that once the new imc working group had internally approved a new imc 
application, we'd send it to the imc-process list so that the larger 
community would know about the application and could raise any 
concerns or follow the application if they were interested.

the idea behind changing that process to include imc-communication 
list is because this list is comprised of liaisons from all local 
imcs (at least that is the hope and i am assuming we're pretty close 
to that being true).  the liaisons' responsibility is to make sure 
that information is passed on to the local collective for discussion 
and then to be returned to the global list.

as far as reviewing the applications, you can know that the new imc 
working group is diligent and committed to the process of making sure 
new collectives are very aware of the principles and membership 
criteria.  we are also thorough.  but that doesn't mean that there 
might be issues raised for others in the network and when an 
application comes to this list, it's the final opportunity to check 
in and learn about a new collective joining the network and to see if 
there are any questions we need to ask that group or if there's 
something the new imc working group missed.

i hope you all will participate in this process and know that this is 
part of your responsibility as liaisons.
