hola,
i have been working with the tallahassee folks and should have been
quicker about sending out the official you've been approved!!!!
notice. dubrovka from t-red hills did it on his own. which is
great, but just kind of threw me off a bit and so a more official
looking email with that in the subject line wasn't sent out. i'm a
few days behind because of alot of other work and once i saw his
email to the process list, i sent an email to imc tech. i apologized
for this already :))
but to clarify Yes! those are the last steps in the process and
that's the way the new imc working group works and has been working
for 18 months solid (with some tweaking here and there). this
description has been described and articulated. however i have just
noticed that the entire process is not clearly stated with those last
steps included on the new imc page. so that can be revised and
updated. a great to do for the new imc working group.
however, the people on new imc who are working with these
applications to shepherd them through are really good about notifying
communication and process and then finally tech and doing these
critical announcements and last steps. whether it always happens on
time in our volunteer organization is another question. but i think
people's intentions are very good, even if they get behind. that's
when we get to work together and help each other out....reminders,
nudges, asking if people need some help. usually things work pretty
smoothly.
in this case, having someone send an email to the list on their own
without a clear subject line was a bit of a new twist in how things
usually happen, but we can work with this :) and then imc tech was
notified by me. so i think we're all set on this.
thanks to mark for putting up that new page for tracking. This new
page allows the New IMC working group to track the status of
applications: http://www.indymedia.org/contact/new_imc.php
ps can we try not cross post to more lists than we need to. perhaps
just clarifying with new imc and then letting process know if we need
to?
peace,
sheri
