[New-imc] Ithaca IMC

I was told to email you directly instead of using the web form.

We've been working here in Ithaca to form an IMC.  We have an abundance
of people with lots of energy, I know that personally I receive over a
dozen personal newsletters with "current news" as different people post
them out daily, and we have alot of activism here that rarely gets any
attention from the local media.  We also have alot of funds behind us,
as alot of people have been involved with fundraising trying to get one
started.

We have a server, its up and running with 30gigs traffic a month (we pay
extra if we exceed it), and I'm more than familar with php/sql to get a
site online quickly (tho I'd prefer to avoid Apache due to its
non-gpl'ness, my own server Abisae doesnt support php yet).  We have an
ogg vorbis stream server ready to go (icecast) and, as I've run a net
radio station before that accepted submissions, I know how to set it up
to convert and que postings, etc etc.

We have a couple breaking stories, one of our parks (directly across
from the famous buttermilk falls) which is also a flood plain (and
Ithaca is in a valley, so this means something big) is getting bulldozed
to put in a shopping mall despite the very vocal objections of thousands
of local activists, a few people have already been arrested trying to
physically block them from destroying it... we also have our local BOCES
(vocational school) having highschool students converting a school bus
to serve as the city's first SWAT TEAM BUS (yes we have photos).

We are also pressed with the deadline of the city's major mail
publication, received by over 3/4 the populus, going out on Monday.  The
author, who is also the man who started our local currency (the Ithaca
Hours), has been active in getting this started and will post our URL if
we're online by then.

I know this is asking alot, but we have the local support and the people
willing to make this happen.  I realise you've been having DNS problems,
heh, you're servers went down in the middle of our first "official"
meeting earlier today actually, but can we get this up and running by
Monday?  I already have most of the resources and have started setting
it up, I can get everything on our end done.  All we need is the zone
ithaca.indymedia.org ns'ed to our server, ns1.www-ng.org.  Access to the
Indymedia servers for archives etc would be nice, but I'm not sure how
much we'll actually be needing them (I think we can exist pretty
independently, being as we're only paying $100/mo for our bandwidth).
Since that involves more of a process we can do without it for now.

Sharks), Ithaca Food Not Bombs, Ithaca New York Free Software Society,
and Tompkins County Network for Peace and Justice.  None of these groups
officially "support" any organisation, but a good number of active
members in these groups have participated in the IMCs formation process.

Again, I know this is alot to ask especially with the trouble you've
experience lately, but your time is highly appreciated by all of us.
