what effort should we do? learn portuguese? or spanish?
esperanto is plain bullshit, it's an artificial language with no 
background, and it's spoken by a tiny minority. why then would all the 
people have to learn that language? it isn't practical at all (and let 
me stress that my objection is exclusively practical).
i recognize that a lot of people don't speak english and therefore may 
have major problems following the international lists, but...
let's face it: english is the most widely spoken language, at least in 
the indymedia network. therefore i think we should all do the effort 
of providing englih versions of what we write, so that the discussion 
can ben available to as many people as possible.
we won't solve language issues by chosing one language over another, 
since we can't force anyone to learn one language. otherwise, i think 
we can have some success overriding this problem by trying to provide 
translations into different languages of the discussions going on.
i know it's difficult, and i know also that a lot of people are 
already doing their best to accomplish this task. we will improve with 
time, i guess.
