[New-imc] New IMC Contact

My name is Marc Sanson.  I am the organizational contact for the Springfield
IMC.

The Springfield IMC has been working hard in the past months preparing to
apply for recognition by the Global IMC as a network site.  We actually
began the application process nearly a year ago, but have taken some time to
build up our organization and get our structure in place.  

We recently launched a new website (www.springfieldimc.org), and are in the
process of implementing the open publishing system.  We  recently acquired a
physical space to be used as a independent media resource center and
location to host events.  And we have just finished approving all of our
organizational documents, including a mission statement, statement of
purpose, structure document and editorial policy.  (which I will be happy to
post to this list if you feel appropriate.)

We have also reviewed the documents posted for review by new IMC's,
including the introductory letter, Global Indymedia overview, Draft
Principals of Unity, and Draft IMC Membership Criteria.  While we may have
suggestions to address these documents at a future date, we are in agreement
with all principles and criteria set forth.

We feel we are quite ready to join the Global Indymedia Network.  We have
submitted our information on the NewIMC form, and will be posting an
introduction from the Springfield IMC to this list as soon as we are
approved to post.  Please inform us of any other steps we need to take
toward becoming a part of the network.  We look forward to working with you
all and eagerly await your response.
