sorry for being slack-ass-imc instead of winnipeg imc.


geoffrey young imc winnipeg the guy on the new imc and process lists. I was
on the communication lists and dont remember getting off it but then again
havent seen a amil from it for a while.
We are very overdue on an update, which has not been forthcoming due to
preparations for that thing next week in calgary.
up to 140 email/day, mostly about that so im just getting killed.
Anyways, imc peg, although approved is gonna take a lttle while for its
site due to busy season being INSANE here.
of the core members
-the g7 guy spent a bit in Toronto and upon his return, has a propaghandi
show on the 26th in Calgary as well as special coverage on the g7 records
site courtesty of DWD a peg imc offshoot.
The radio guy went camping and then last week, both radio guys were out
east for the community radio conference and returned late last night.
The other core has taken on a heap related to local g8 actions
I am stuck with getting dwd coverage ready for dissemination/ imc go
between and one of a handful of experienced folk amongst about 120 g8 group
members. because of this im getting more time taken up by aswereing these
kids questions and making them feel ok about what they are gonna see.
good side is that our ranks are swelling by up to 2 or 3 dozen members
immediately after g8 planning is over. the bad side is that, with the g7
guy being one techie, and the other off travelling we are without techie
until after g8.
Although we were aware of this some time ago, I have been slow reporting,
sorry.
Early July, we will re organize the new members (including it seems a
couple of techies) into productive roles and tackle the site in earnest.
Anyways I take personal responsibility for the site not getting there yet.
I vastly, grossly underestimated the amount of  activism here in Winnipeg,
particularly concerning the G8. After moving from Toronto, I thought that
imc would be one of 4 or 5 gigs in town, but its not, its one of 20 and the
20 are very busy right now. After g8, we will be getting a member or two
from each of said groups.
this left us in a sittuation of killing ourselves with work AND trying to
get attention in the busiest protest time of the past decade in winnipeg,
realizing that there was already a good thing going, and seeing the alberta
has now filled in some kg8 info, getting the site up became less pressing.
Anyways, I will be signing myself up and probably another member will be
signing up for the communications list upon return from out west. Until
then it is sorta useless being that my message box is full again every
couple of hours so i really dont have time to deal with much more mail
before my head explodes clean off.
In a way the wait has been very good as everybody here feels that we will
be launching with a much larger and stronger collective.
