The point about removing all contents from public access is that there's an
enourmous amount of racists stuffs and such craps.
The website has been almost on it's own for months, still now we don't have
it undercontrol anymore.

We might risk law suit if those content are still there. Some website or
people attacking us are collecting the URLs of racists posts to attack us.
Even hidden articles are findable in five seconds using search engine as
Google, and there's no sign on it telling it have been hidden. But lot of
artciles like that haven't even been hidden.

I don't see any other solution. But i think that in the future we have to
find a way so the hidden article aren't accessible to the public BUT trough
the database admin form (where it's clear it have been hidden).

IMC France is under heavy attack, we cannot take them anymore. The team
administarting it is far too weak, the situation is going for too long (at
least 6 months without sufficient administration)

:: ANSWER TO ::
hi all, i haven't been following the imc-france situation closely, so i
might be misunderstanding it. I'm worried about one thing: On Sat, 22 Jun
2002, boud wrote: > TECHNICAL DETAILS OF CLOSURE >The main elements of
closure, which so far seem to be consensed on, >are: removal of the
newswire data base from public access does this mean that public will not
be able to access any content from the newsire? if yes, can you please give
details, why? i suspect this was already discussed on lenght on some lists,
so you can just point to me to saome existing emails if that's the case. if
i'm not mistaken, and you are closing down complete newsire for public
access, i think it's a terrible mistake. i've been following imc-france in
it's early days (using babelfish to translate since i don't speak french)
and a lot of good content and work will be lost. if the reasons for doing
this are possibility of legal action against imc-france, why to remove
access to *all* content? i still hope i misunderstood something. thanks,
