Hey Flow,

Bart again here from the new-imc working group. In this e-mail you'll get links to the documents about the imc approval process. Besides I have some remarks about the mails I saw from Madrid and about some of the things you wrote to us.
I thought I send you the links in my previous mail, but looking back in my mail folders I realise i just asked if you wanted to communicate in English or Spanish. Sorry for the delay.

I saw Evan's mails and your answer and I'm still not sure about the acp.sindominio / madrid.indy connection / way of organising.
We, indymedia, think local collectives are important. We strongly believe and encourage people to work on grassroots/alterntive media from a local level. This means we prefer local collectives working on collectively run media; basically a website, but maybe also radio / print / ...

I really don't mind other people are working in it (like mexico, peru), but I think in general it's better to make some clear structure and a report on how you see the links between madrid.indymedia.org and the - global - collective behind acp.sindominio.

Please, also note that joining indymedia isn't about getting a site up and getting linked from the cities list. It's about joining a global network based on values and principles. Getting the site up is one part, getting your collective organised behind the principles and values is another , more important, part. But I guess we'll discuss this further on the new-imc list.

About the documents. I'll send you here the links to them in English. At the end there's a link to where you can find the links in Spanish.
On http://newimc.indymedia.org there are links to five documents you have to go through collectively.
1. Introductory letter
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/new-imc/2001-September/000935.html
2. Indymedia FAQ
http://process.indymedia.org/faq.php3
3. Global Indymedia Overview (out of date)
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/new-imc/2001-May/000157.html
4. Draft principles of Unity
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/new-imc/2001-May/000160.html
5. Draft of IMC Membership Criteria
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/new-imc/2001-May/000155.html

If you want them in Spanish, you'll see them linked from:
http://newimc.indymedia.org/?lang=es

Please note that 4. and 5. should be answerred. The answers should be send back to our list.
We also want to receive an introduction to your imc (mission statement) and a contact list (who's the contact person for what in your imc). The contact list is used to update our internal database.

Since we're a network there's also someone required to be a "liaison" in global communications. There should be at least someone from your imc on the following lists:
imc-communications, imc-tech, imc-process, imc-communication, imc-finance & imc-proposals. Since you're a european imc, it would be cool if someone joined imc-europe list.

If you have additional questions or need more information, feel free to contact me or the new imc working group (new-imc at lists.indymedia.org).

Greetings,

Bart
