Why we want to be an IMC: Hi,
We are an existing grassroots activist collective working from within Alaska to expand our reach statewide, nationally and globally. Alaska has a comparatively small per capita population, but the issues here are enormous. Oil exploration and development, Alaska Native disenfranchisement and racism, National Missile Defense and military experiments, industrial clearcutting, overfishing, wildlife depletion, mineral extraction, tourism abuse, civil rights violations against immigrant populations:  Alaska is little more than a resource colony for corporate financeers and their political stoolies. We desperately need to broadcast these immediate concerns to the broader public. Expanding the IMC network to Alaska is imperative. With the recent attacks on IMC by state and federal police, what better time to fight back with expansion of our nonviolent web of activists? Please help us spread the good word in Alaska.
