Buenas, adjunto la carta de presentación, los criterios de participación y
los principios de unidad del colectivo para formar indymedia ecuador. Leanlo
y envien un mail si no estan de acuerdo con alguna cosa. El plazo para
cuestionar la creación de indymedia ecuador en new-imc e imc-latina es el 23
de mayo. En esa fecha envio la carta a imc-process.

dear friends
since a few monthes some organizations, groups, collectives, individuals
from ecuador began to realize meetings in order to conform an
indymedia ecuador.
at the moment there are particpiating in the meetings persons from
indigenuos and campesino movements like
CONAIE, ECUARUNARI,  CONFEUNASSC, alternative media and some more.

we have red the criteria of afiliation and we are conform with them.

at the moment there are 3 persons, that will be responsible of the tecnical
aspects,
i tell you this, because one of the objectives is to make workshops with
organozations and individuals, organozations etc. to capacitate them
how to use indymedia.

we are having meetings every wednesday at 4 p.m. and the invitation is open
to organzations and individuals.
the invitation is send by the indymedia ecuador list and by other lists, for
example the list of the CONFEUNASSC and the international camp

we also realized a campagne to inform the organizations about the project of
indymedia ecuador and we will continue in this process.
we dicedes, that the place of meeting should rotate, because liek this, no
organzation will be able to apropiate the indymedia process to its
organization.
this will work like this, until we will have an own indymedia office

we are working on the design of the indymedia ecuador page, and there are to
persons responsible of the internation indymedia contact

the ponit of membership in an political party still has to be discussed a
little more benause in ecuador there are many political  movements , who
represent the ecuadorian organizations and social movements.

but for the moment we got to the consensus, that no politicla party will
form part of the indymedia center

Principles of unity

(Punto 1) in the prozess of resistance in our country are participating
diverse organizations, movements, networks, collectives, individuals that
are working together with the principles of equaty, decentralizatioln, local
autonomy and solidarity.
because of this the indymedia center ecuador should (and will) reflect the
same diversity of movements and the solidarity
of our prozess of political construction.
we would propose to include the principle  of solidairity in the principles
of indymedia. our indigenous nationalities have mantained their conecpt
of brother/sisterhood between societies.

(Punto 4) we are conform with the priciple of open posting, every person can
post articles, but we will try to eliminate articles, that contain
contents that are against the objectves and principles of indymedia and our
collective of indymedia ecuador

(Punto 6) to avoid hierarchies and an autoritarian way of coordination we
will work permamently to have an open prozess wich will facilitate
capacitation to each meber of the indymedia ecuador collective  (and other
interested people) in use of indymedia and to have transparent ways
of desicion making.

the CMI Ecuador will work on an editorial policy,in a participative
collective way , this is the only way to go ahead with the indymedia ecuador
and with every polictical and orgnaizative initiative.

Compañeros, the points, we did not mention here are the points with wich we
are totally conform.

because of the urgency to inform and communicate with other people of this
world, we will relie on the experience of other spaces of alternative
comunication, wich are using technology to express and this way convert
things that happen in real history.
we believe, that
INDYMEDIA is the space of communication wich will help us to inform lots of

from our political and organizative spaces we are working to construct
live and souveranity for our people. this should be emitted to exchange with
other people of this world,  to
contribute to the construction of a better and just societity

WHY INDYMEDIA ECUADOR
In our country the mass media are private monopolized corporations, as a
logical consecuence they only inform about notices of ther interest,
not informing about actions of the mayority of ecuadorians.
this days, knowing objetives/aims of INDYMEDIA, and after havind some
meetings of analisis with responsible persons of alternative
communication, we found it necessary for ecuador to join power to create an
indymedia ecuador, to inform the world about our struggles,
proceses, activities, proposals and thoughts.

OBJETIVES/AIMS:
a) empowerment of our struggles, joining and creating links of
brother/sisterhood with other peopleof this world.
b) to offer  a space to inform, to be informed about the regional and local
struggels of other places. the indígenous, campesinos, urban
and  popular sectors and other social movements will be able to be
constructors of our own own way of life, a new society con our own
principles.
c) Descentralization and democtratization of communication, promotingand
strengthening spaces of alternative media

PRINCIPLES OF COMMUNICATION.

communities and our society
Ä Promotion and difusion of ancestral ideas of our people
Ä Construction of unity of the aboriginal nations

PROJECTS
one reason for the urgency of having an indymedia ecuador is the multitude
of things that happen in teh context of Plan
Cololmbia and the free trade agreement of the americas FTAA (ALCA in
spanish), wich affects the andenean region and Ecuador as part of it.
ecuador is living the prozecc of movilization for the gathering of ministers
of FTAA, wich will take part the first days of noviembre in quito,
ecuador, (the social continental forum
is mobilizing for this event).
in this prozess of movilization at a regional level an indymedia ecuador,
will play an important role and help to cover the actions, that wont be
covered by the mass media.

INDYMEDIA Ecuador.

Criterios de Afiliación


Compañeros y compañeras, en Ecuador desde hace algunos meses nos hemos
reunido varias organizaciones, redes, individuos, movimientos, etc, con la
finalidad de impulzar la creación de Indymedia Ecuador. Pues hasta el
momento tenemos la participación activa de varios representantes de las
organizaciones indígenas y campesinas como la CONAIE, la ECUARUNARI,
CONFEUNASSC, Campamento Internacional, Cerpaj, y varios medios de
comunicación alternativos.

Depues de leer los criterios de afiliación hemos coincidido en todos los
puntos ya que hasta el momento contamos con tres compañer at s los que se
encargarían en un inicio del mantenimiento técnico de la página, digo por el
momento ya que uno de los objetivos a cumplir como colectivo es capacitar a
la mayor cantidad de compañeros de las organizaciones, redes y movimientos
así como individuos que tengan voluntad y responsabilidad de avanzar en este
tema.

Lasreuniones las relizamos todos los miercoles a las 4 de la tarde y la
convocatoria es amplia y abierta para quien quiera participar, pues lo
hacemos por varias listas y en la lista de CMI Ecuador. También hemos
realizado una campaña en las diferentes organizaciones y lo seguiremos
haciendo en la que mostramos la importancia de tener un Indymedia Ecuador.
Para que no se apropie ninguna organización del CMI Ecuador, decidimos que
las reuniones sean rotativas, es decir que se hagan en diferentes
organizaciones, esto hasta tener un local propio.

También, se ha trabajado el logo de Indymedia Ecuador y se han nombrado a
dos compañeras para que asuman en un inicio la relación con CMI
Internacional.

Por el tema de pertenecer o no a un partido político, creo que es necesario
ir discutiendo más profundamente, ya que en Ecuador existen movimientos
políticos los que representan a las organizaciones nacionales, pero por
ahora quedamos de acuerdo con que no sea el centro filial de ningún partido
político.


Principios de Unidad.

(Punto 1) En el proceso de resistencia en nuestro país, se ha logrado que
una diversidad inmensa de organizaciones, movimientos, redes, colectivos,
individuos, etc. se reúnen bajo principios de igualdad, descentralización,
autonomía local y solidaridad. Es por eso que el centro de medios
Independientes Indymedia, debe reflejar esa diversidad y solidaridad con la
que nuestro proceso vivo y concreto se fortalece, por tanto pedimos que se
incluya el concepto de solidaridad, ya que nuestros pueblos se han mantenido
históricamente en comunidades hermanas.

(Punto 4) Referente al tema de los artículos abiertos, nosotros dejamos la
posibilidad de que quien quiera escribir o enviar algún articulo o cualquier
documento informativo sea publicado, pero trataremos de sacarlos de la
página a aquellos que atenten contra los objetivos y principios de la red
CMI y de nuestro colectivo.

(Punto 6) Para evitar la jerarquía y el autoritarismo, vamos a trabajar duro
en un proceso permanente que nos permita transmitir a tod at s l at s compañeros
del colectivo capacidades, habilidades y aptitudes para llevar adelante el
proceso de CMI Ecuador.

(Punto 10) Compañeros, necesitamos que nos expliquen mas detallado este
punto, ya que tenemos dificultad en definir código de fuente y software
propio.

En el CMI Ecuador, vamos a trabajar un Colectivo editorial, ya que para
nosotros es fundamental la participación colectiva, esa es la única manera
en que podemos llevar adelante el centro y cualquier iniciativa política
organizativa.

Compañeros, los puntos que no se han tomado en cuenta son en los que estamos
totalmente de acuerdo.
