[New-imc] MICHIGAN (sincere apologies)

Hi new-imc, 

I just posted onto the new-imc at indymedia list the Michigan IMC's responses
to the network membership criteria and the intro they sent in when they
filled out the new-imc form, in order for us to send them along to
imc-process as soon as possible.  They posted both to this list in late March.

Sincere apologies go out to the Michigan IMC.  We spend a lot of time and
energy in this working group explaining and re-explaining to aspiring IMCs
the process of how to organize and imc to satisfy the network criteria, and
then, sometimes, waiting a long time for groups to sit down and respond to
the criteria.  The Michigan IMC was one group that figured the process out
from the beginning, and was entirely receptive to working with the new-imc
group to get themselves together.  We should have been much, much more
responsive to the Michigan group, and by now they should certainly be
linked through the indymedia sites.

The explanation for why we were so scattered is that we've been trying to
embrace a new form of regionalization.  We've been working on sharing the
effort of supporting new-imcs.  That has led to some exciting bonds
forming, but also to some uncertainty about what steps come after what
steps, and who should carry them out.

Sorry once more to Michigan for making you wait while we worked out some
things internally.  From what I hear your organizing keeps advancing.  I'm
really looking forward to working with you.
