resources:
We have pulled together several individuals who are proficient in web design who will make up the core of our technical community. We also have access to a high speed [T3] line.
outreach:
Although small, we manage to hold small local forums at local colleges, high schools, indy book stores, and at large social gatherings. We hold discussion groups at least once a week posting fliers in stores, schools, coffee shops, and anywhere else we can reach the right demographic. We never manage to get more than 30 people together, but considering we have only been doing this for a few months, we have made excellent progress getting diverse groups of people together to learn and share ideas.
introductory_statement:
Although not know for its radical nature like Berkeley or Eugene, Indianapolis does have its own distinct progressive voices. Too far away from other metropolitan areas like Chicago and Detroit, we often are ignored by the progressive community in these regions. What we seek with Indianapolis Indymedia is a local Indianapolis forum to report, inform, organize and reach out to Indianapolis progressive community. We seek to break the strangle hold that corporate opinion makers have here and provide an alternative for those who want the whole story.
