New London -imc application
Summary and Emerging Consensus


Friends, 

I’m addressing this specifically to members of the New
-imc working group, and of course to all the concerned
parties who have an interest in what we do. 

Regarding the New London -imc application:

We received the application. Then immediately upon it,
a "100% objection" by the London Working Group.

We asked for clarifications, and we received updates
from all the parties involved, including from Ana,
Andi, and Tony, of the new London -imc group, some
arguments from the London Working Group, and no other
objections by anyone in the uk imc, nor from any of the
other imc groups formed - or forming now  - in the uk
(the debate was widely shared on all the relevant uk-
imc lists), nor from any members of the New-imc working
group.

We also debated to a high intensity the role of such
"100% objections", and blocks to our process, on both
our organs, on the New-imc list and the imc-Process
list.

Emerging Consensus:
There seems to be general agreement that the way this
objection was raised, is not in keeping with the
process of consensus.


It’s time that we proceed with the application of the
new London- imc group, and we need to send some
encouragement to the group to proceed. So far, all the
indications are that the new London -imc group is
viable, democratic, and is a much needed development
for the imc network. 
Friends, Ana, Andi, Tony, and others of the new London
-imc group, as soon as you are ready, we would need you
to refer to 
http://newimc.indymedia.org , which is the best place
to find information 
about the organizational steps necessary to form an
IMC. Most of you are familiar with those already, but
given the climate surrounding this particular
application, it will be better if the new  London -imc
group follows everything in there with attention to
detail, so as to make the application impeccable.
