Hi Seth,

This is Jay from the Philadelphia IMC, and also from the new-imc working 
group.  I'im very glad to see your below information.  Things really seem 
to be shaping up in Bellingham!

I'm going to cc this message to the general e-mail lists for your neighbor 
IMCs in Seattle, Vancouver and Victoria.  Have you been in touch with any 
of them?  Perhaps one or both of them would be the best to work with you as 
you get ready to join the Indymedia 
network.  Seattle?  Vancouver?  Victoria?  Anyone out there feel able to 
help Bellingham through the new-imc process?

Speaking of which, welcome to the "new-imc process" -- the process every 
new IMC goes through on its way to "officially" joining the Indymedia 
network.  This can be a relatively arduous time for a forming IMC.  There 
will be lots of meetings ahead, lots of dreaming and scheming, as well as a 
lot of hard work.  How quickly your group is ready to join the network is 
up to you.  The new-imc group is pretty insistent on an IMC's doing some 
basic organizational things before an IMC can join the network.  Some IMC 
groups take a few months to get to that point of organization -- others 
never do.  There's no rush!  The key is to organize throughly as possible, 
and when you're ready, you'll be ready.
Certainly check out the documents at 
"http://newimc.indymedia.org".  They'll give you a step-by-step guide of 
what to do from this point on.

I'm looking forward to hearing from someone in either Seattle, Vancouver or 
Victory to see if they'll be able to help you through the new-imc process.
