[New-imc] Rogue deadline?

Hi,
Discussions have definitely been shaping up about consensus and its
relation to the Rogue IMC application. I know this could be an endless
debate, unless we take concrete steps toward turning it into a decision. :)
I don't know if we have to come to a full decision on the Indymedia
networks definition of consensus immediately, but I'd hate for us to be
holding up the Rogue IMC group indefinitely just because they're the ones
who happened to trigger this debate. My suggestion would be that we fix a
deadline, perhaps ten days from now (May 9), for passing along the Rogue
IMC application again to imc-process, if their majority rule/cosensus point
is the only block remaining. The Rogue group has suggested it's willing to
work with new-imc on that point; as Deva's message reminds us, IMCs can,
and do, modify their decision-making processes at any point. If they're
willing to work with whatever the IMC principles are, and to consider
modifying their own decision-making process to be in accordance with IMC
principles once we clarify them, I don't think we need to hold them up
until that clarification has happened.
I know there are other issues, and if they haven't been resolved by that
time, we may have to wait longer, but if we've cleared all other things
out, I think we should at least have a time frame in mind to move this all
forward.
Thoughts?
Jay
