[New-imc] Questions on Indy Cancun

During the last G8 in Evian, we had the problem that G8 news was split
between Indy switzerland's 3+ different sites, as well as the various
French IMCs, plus the different IMCs that our visiting journalists came
from (Italy, UK...) as well as several other non-indymedia independent
media sourcrs (TV, radio, etc.) and the various dispatch systems set up
couldn't coordinate information distribution between them. To fight this,
Bak (bak at indymedia.org) set up a gorgeous website,
http://dispatch.indymedia.it as a clearing-house to post and translate
confirmed and unconfirmed news. Once news was independently confirmed, it
went automatically to indymedia.org/g8/, which also automatically compiled
news about the g8 that was on different IMCs (I dunno how he did
it!). It seems that this is a common problem with convergence-specific
IMCs set up in places where there is no permanent Indymedia collective in
place (such as in Strasbourg during the Noborder camp) and I think using
Bak's code in situations like this is a very elegant solution.
That said, why can't Cancun people simply use Indymedia Mexico as their
host IMC? I think that's fairly common practice, to use the IMC of the
host country.
