Hi boud
thanks for your message

i´ll check out your suggestions and comments.

we do have a problem with the list. We asked for an indymedia
list early in the process and it looks like we got it: imc-estrecho
but then the password never got to us - or we lost the message.
and i keep sending mails to different addresses with no answer.
can anyone help with this or suggest who to contact?

open lists:

yes, i believe we are not planning any illegal violent actions,
and i believe we wouldn´t have any problem in having open lists,
especially if that is the norm in the global network.

We do have now a bunch of lists, that we haven´t opened at indymedia
because that part of the process has been a bit opaque to me
who have been working as contact person. It is probably because
it takes a while to learn one´s way around the processes.

I will send an mail to our different lists to ask people to make
the lists open / public. I wouldn´t say they are¨"secret" however,
people just have to suscribe and our policy has been to let join
the list to whoever applied.

server:
We got a bit stucked with the server. From very early on we were
offered space in texas, but then it seems like the server there
doesn´t support sf-active which is the code that we are using.

I believe pseudopunk is helping chaser, our tech contact person,
with finding a new one... i´ll keep you guys informed.

Europe / Africa:
As far as the Europe / Africa election... that´s a difficult
one. In our statements we asked to be placed in some kind of
new category. Actually the imc-estrecho indymedia list -still
inactive because of the admin problems- is placed in the global
category. A good alternative as far as i am personally concerned
would be to be on both spaces: Europe AND Africa.

Information updates:
I have updated the new imc file several times. I believe it does
contain the mission statemente and editorial policy. We will
updated whatever else is needed!

Give me a few days to check in detail all your suggestions, some
of them i have of course to present to the estrecho network.

thanks in any case for your help. It is not easy to know all
the time what we are supposed to do concerning the global network!
As you may know we have done most of the process without having
any contact person to guide us around, and that has been a bit
difficult! We still don´t but i guess we are almost there!

Cities list:
I do have a proposal about the indymedia cities list:
I find kind of strange to have categories such as United States,
Europe, Canada, Latin America, Africa.

Wouldn´t it be more... democratic... or let´s say egalitarina,
or even logical to have strictly continents or regions: that
is to eliminate United States as a category and put Northamerica
instead?

At the beginning of the network the way it is now could have
made some sense, but [imho] it doesn´t make so much sense any
more.

all the best _ osfa
