so, to come back to topic sites: My basic idea is that a topic site deals 
with an topic that *simultaniously* takes place worldwide like GM crops, 
but also for example migration. Therefore it's hard for people who work on 
such an issue to read and write about it if they are restricted to a location.

The proposal by volunteers working on the biotechimc site therefore are 
topic site that deal with this kind of issues, and we consider it import 
not to split the content of from the local IMCs.

All of that has been laid down on 
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/BiotechTopic in english and spanish.

And I also would prefer to move this discussion to new-project at indy
