   Right at the moment we don't have enough US-based people active
in the new-imc working group to help new groups organise in the US.

You're of course welcome to read through

but something which could be *very* helpful as well as a way 
of integrating into your regional network of Indymedia collectives
would be to look for contacts for IMCs in North Eastern USA,
looking through

and

and suggest they join the regional mailing list that some people
there created:

(North East North America)

and then try to get people talking to each other, first by publicly
archived mailing list, but then face-to-face - the most obvious
concrete request you can make is to meet nthem and learn how to get
your own local group organised. There's lots of info on the newimc
page above, but it's also very encouraging to have the face-to-face
contact, and the whole idea of indymedia is that different groups and
individuals should be able to work together via consensus, and not to
compete with each other.
