resources:
We have a fresh server with loads of space and fat pipe.
Currently have space in Murdoch Student Guild building, looking to move into warehouse space being negotiated thru S&S crew.
whole bunch of crufty old powermacs & PCs. Various toys. A video camera.
We have a small(!) sum of cash for gear & organising.

outreach:
Mostly e-loop based outreach and thru active-perth stuff. All members currently of working group are involved with various other activist organisations with notable focuses being in refugee liberation, poverty activism and environmental organisations. There has been some interest also from the various anarchist and socialist kids.
Still some work at increasing queer , women and indigenous participation. Gender balance probably acceptable, but still not quite parity. Working on it!

Perth is serviced by one daily and one weekly newspaper plus one national paper. With australias atrocious record in refugees and indigenous rights, it has become essential to provide new outlets for self representation of the \'little\' people and our struggles, particularly in the face of the right wing media machine.

Perth Indymedia Mission Statement V1.0 

The Perth Independent Media Collective is dedicated to challenging the established modalities of commercial media representation by providing autonomous participatory avenues for the free dissemination of democratic and radical media forms and discourses. 

The Perth IMC recognizes that the subjugation of self representation to commercial interests in Western Australia has directly contributed to the further marginalizing of minority groups, Indigenous Australians , un(der)employed, student, women , youth and queer groups. Furthermore these factors have led to the concentration of power at the hands of conservative governments and corporate interests. 

With this in mind, the Perth IMC seeks, as part of the wider international Indymedia community, to build autonomous media outlets, principally online, but ultimately via print, radio and community television, that allow the community to produce its own media content, unhampered by commercial and governmental restriction and expectations. 

To help facilitate this project, the Perth Indymedia Collective seeks to function in a non hierarchical manner based along a consensus model and in line with the \"Indymedia Principals of Unity\" and using the \"Open publishing\" model.
