hi boud,
we've made some progress on our site... Scott who's working with the collaborative hosting new mexico and some other sites has set up a temp site for us, we've started practicing posting, we've finalized ed. guidelines, mission statement and logo, and we've got a bunch of stuff lined up for our first features.
i registered kcindymedia.org last fall when we first started working on this, but Scott said to keep with the established guidelines for using the URL, we should be official before he points the server to that address. Can we do anything else or provide any more info to get closer to being OK'd? Of course the group already knows about the temp site and is accessing it, but I'm hesitant to promote the site beyond that since we're not at our "real" address yet. Any help you can give us is really appreciated.
Thanks,
sam

sheri and jay who often handle North America new IMCs are not around
right now, and the other new-imc volunteers from your region don't seem
to be around either, but i saw your form here:

You look like you're doing all the right things! But i'd prefer someone
local who really knows the local situation to handle your application.

i can suggest you read through

http://newimc.indymedia.org

and the documents linked there and have some more face-to-face
meetings and deal with all the various organising issues such as how
you'll make decisions, what your editorial policy is, etc.

You might also want to look up
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/NewImcPageImprovements
for two links on what IMHO are some of the best documents on how
to organise meetings.

By the time you've gone through that, hopefully someone will be back to
guide you more seriously!

solidarity
boud
