[New-imc] getting a grasp on 7 U.S. "orphans"

Hi,

I spent a bit of time tonight trying to get a grasp on the current progress
of the seven current U.S. new-imc applicants. Over the last few days there
have been a few more volunteers to help clear the back log and get these
fine folks up and running. Yay! So, over the couple days we should be
able to get things rolling. I'm going to cc this message to all of those
who have been communicating on the new-imc list from the aspiring IMCs so
everyone can start to get on the same page.

So far, the people who have volunteered to help are
Arc (from Ithaca)
Nick (from Houston)
Geoffrey (from Winnipeg)
Aaron (from Arkansas)
me (from Philadelphia)

Sascha (from Urbana) has suggested to the imc-midwest list that someone
from that group offer to help the midwestern new-imcs, so maybe some other
volunteers will emerge.

I'll list the current applicants below, along with suggestions of who could
help each one, then I'll e-mail all the folks involved (cc'ing the messages
to this list) and see if this shake up sounds reasonable to everyone.

-- IMC Binghamton
-- IMC Southern New York
Arc -- makes sense for you to work with these groups, right? How does that
sound to you?

-- IMC Kansas City
-- IMC Lawrence, KS
Aaron -- you've offered to help these groups. Great! Since this would be
your first time to help a new-imc group through the process, I'll happily
help you with this (unless someone from the midwest IMC list who is
familiar with the new-imc process would be able to help, which makes much
more sense than me doing it from all the way out here in the eastern U.S.)

-- IMC South Dakota
-- IMC Lakota (South Dakota)
Geoffrey, do you think you may be able to communicate with these
groups? Geograpically, you may be one of the closest people to South
Dakota -- okay, I know it's far away, but perhaps there could be a
connection. I can help if you think you need it.

-- IMC Rouge
Nick, would you be interested in working with this group?

Like I said, I'll send some e-mails to everyone tonight and see if this can
start to make sense.

It's a start,

Jay
