[New-imc] KANSAS CITY/LAWRENCE

KC-IMC, Lawrence IMC, Aaron,

Hi all.  This is Jay from the Philadelphia IMC.  I have been involved with 
the new-imc working group for a while, though I've taken a (well-needed) 
break for the last couple months.  There are a lot of U.S.-based new-imc 
groups lining up to join the network, so I felt the need to come back for a 
while and help out.

Aaron and the Arkansas IMC have recently joined the network.  Aaron has 
kindly offered to help with the KC and Lawrence IMC groups as you go 
through the new-imc process.  That's great!  Aaron, since this will be the 
first time you've helped new-imc groups through the process, I figure we 
could work on that together.  KC and Lawrence, how does that sound?

As I see it, I feel as if the KC and Lawrence groups are in slightly 
different stages of organizing.  Lawrence has just started organizing and 
is in the process of doing outreach.  As you can imagine, sometimes that 
takes a long while. :)  Kansas City seems to be a few steps forward, and 
has had meetings, is figuring out how to manage their web site, etc.  KC, 
unless I've missed them (which is possible, in my current e-mail overload), 
still has to work out its editorial statement, mission statement, responses 
to the membership criteria, etc., plus to continue to do substantial 
outreach.

If this all seems correct, and if Aaron, you're up to the challenge of 
helping out, which of course you are!, perhaps you can all communicate a 
bit to get to know each other.  Feel free to e-mail me to ask any 
questions, and/or get my number so we can talk on the phone if you think 
that will help.
