resources:
Several individuals are reasonably knowledgable and experienced web-designers, although some assistance will inevitably be required. We don\'t have much in the way of bandwidth, though you can contribute funds. There is a fantastic network of grassroots organizations here in Santa Barbara, though, and so many of them have contacted us and are incredibly enthusiastic about this project.
outreach:
All the groups listed above have been involved in discussions about the project, and many have volunteered with ideas. The group that initially proposed the idea work mostly for the independent radio station here on campus that broadcasts a variety of high-quality political/public interest programs and would like to supplement that coverage on the web.
introductory_statement:
Participation in the Indymedia Network will help us reach two critical goals. Primary, we need a single hub to link individuals and organizations from around the city and the central coast to one another, promoting education, outreach, and activism. Creating such a site will help us towards our second goal, which is providing residents who are not currently involved the means by they can find out about relevant information and events and become involved. The Indymedia Network is, and should be, for both the initiated and the uninitiated, and this is exactly what we need.
