[New-imc] Online form: Proposed new IMC! (Phasm)

I really am unsure about this application, i would like to hear other 
opinions - I have phoned the contact, and spoke about indymedia's 
needing a diverse network of people etc, behind any application. He 
understands and is interested in contacting local groups in the 
bedfordshire area, and will be back intouch. I have talked to him 
about the UK network and suggested he get in touch to talk about the 
network in their area. [i have also pasted below an longer text from 
their proposal]

So for now (based on our phone conversation) i think he is not going 
to proceed with this application. I will follow up any new 
application from Luton or bedfordshire when it comes in.

Introducing You To PHASM
In October 2002 PHASM was launched by four free-thinkers promoting 
spiritual freedom. Debby and Peter Wakeham, who live in Luton, their 
friend Theresa Croshaw who lives in Nuneaton and Philip Kinsella, a 
powerful medium from Bedford.
Aims Of PHASM
To help create a climate within our society where people THINK for themselves.
To encourage everyone to explore their own natural spiritual and 
psychic experiences, in order to develop their own divinity.
To shake off the shackles imposed by the bigotry and ignorance of 
orthodox religions and the stifling despair of all political 
ideologies and corporate consumerism.
To free our minds to help us grow  free to be different - free to be human.
To develop the case for scientific proof of life after death and 
promote the work of Arthur Findlay, Thomas Paine, Michael Roll, and 
Ronald Pearson's Academy of Survival Physics.
To establish a Spiritual Freedom Centre in Luton.
WHY?
PHASM is part of the world-wide campaign to overthrow suppression of 
truth about who we really are i.e. that we are all spiritual beings 
that survive death. We believe that most people's spiritual/ psychic 
experiences go unsung. Many of us have experiences that we can't 
explain other than it was probably spiritual. Therefore, PHASM 
encourages people to find out about survival after death and come to 
our Spiritual Freedom Centre to hear other people discuss their 
experiences and understanding.
    We counter the bunkum about "hocus pocus", "things that go bump in 
the night" that dominates the mass media's approach to spiritual 
matters. This is degrading and useless nonsense. We aim to provide a 
better outlet for genuine information about Spirit and spiritual 
manifestations.
   We want people to be free to be human. This means exposing religion 
as a mind-controller of people over hundreds of years. It means 
showing how to overcome the almost "religious" belief in corporate 
consumerism that is devastating our lives and our planet.

THERE IS SCIENTIFIC PROOF OF LIFE AFTER DEATH
We understand that every person and animal survives death and lives 
on as "spirit", "energy", "a soul" or whatever word you prefer. For a 
hundred years mediums and others have been gathering evidence of 
survival through departed spirits communicating with us and showing 
themselves to us in the material world.
   The suppression of survival has lasted for 2000 years, mostly by 
Christianity, but through sub-atomic physics, learned scientists such 
as Ronald D. Pearson, Sir William Crookes, Sir Oliver Lodge and 
others (some are Nobel Prize winners) have shown us the proof. By 
carrying out scientific repeatable experiments they proved the 
existence of life after death, it is PHASM's responsibility to reveal 
this truth to everyone.

Spiritual Freedom Centre
PHASM has started a project, which will be used for:
Philosophy - understanding love of humanity, the earth and all the 
creatures and plants that live on it. Opposing politics, corporatism, 
mind-control by mass media and religion that try to destroy our minds 
and life on earth.
Healing  we will conduct healing for people who wish it, using Reiki, 
spiritual or similar methods and introduce people to means of 
training to become a healer.
Art  the art of mediumship, a medium friend of ours, and member of 
PHASM, describes his work by saying "I must confess it is a very 
difficult art to work on. I call it ART because that's nearest I can 
get to it". We'll explore how art deals with spirituality and whether 
people have discovered Spirit through art.
Spirit - conducting investigations into the nature of spiritual 
experiences, researching, presenting scientific proof of survival and 
challenging the suppressors of proof, by giving talks to the general 
public, arranging discussion groups, distributing important books on 
the subject.
