hi rick and bill,
Sorry about the confusion.
Your initial request was made here:
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/new-imc/2002-December/004369.html
and it seems that noone replied - our apologies.
i think arc has volunteered to help guide you through the process - and
some face-to-face meetings with IMC Ithaca would definitely be good!

Since i argued against giving the DNS hyderabad.indymedia.org since
there were alternative urgent solutions which existed, it would be
inconsistent - and sound like preference for rich countries - if
we kept binghamton.indymedia.org
Maybe a fair alternative would be something like
binghamton.pending.indymedia.org
Hmmm.
Idea:
dns people: Is it technically easy to make a subdomain like
pending.indymedia.org
so that there could be binghamton.pending.indymedia.org,
zimbabwe.pending.indymedia.org, hyderabad.pending.indymedia.org, ...
until they get through the process?
new-imc people: Would this be a big enough change that we ought
to ask imc-communication, imc-process before proceeding?
i wonder if this would respond to those people who think a new
group needs to get a web site up and running quickly?
Maybe this is a bad idea, but i just threw it up for reflection...
