Our current site uses dada imc software. We are working with a Washington D.C non-profit called Sustainable Community Iniatives. We recieved a small grant to help start this project.
outreach:
So far we have contacted several listsertves and posted an announcement at the indymedia open newswire.
introductory_statement:
Quiet Revolution (http://www.quietrev.org) is a new web site for articles about alternatives to corporate globalization. We are an open publishing forum and use indymedia software. The goal of our web site is to promote critical discussion about alternatives to corporate globalization, and to encourage communities to start their own alternatives. We are therefor seeking articles about alternatives such as coopertatives, intentional communities, local currency, home schooling, holistic medicine, micro-credit, ect. We are especially interested in articles by people who have organized or participated in alternatives.
I realize that there is currently an alternatives forum which is part of the Philadelphia IMC. We would certainly be open to colloborating with the people who started that project.
Our web site has only been up for a few weeks. And we are still working on building an editorial collective. Ideally we would like to have a diverse group of editors from different locations. We have spoken to several activists in Latin America about participating.
This is really a preliminary inquiry to see if it is feasible or desirable to link our site to indymedia.
