hi aaron,
Did anyone from new-imc answer your request? i think it would be
best that someone living close to you (e.g. in USA) could help talk
you through the process, but i think our US-based volunteers are mostly
in Porto Alegre right now...

arc? sheri? dave? (sorry if i've forgotten the others...)

While you're waiting to hear back from someone, please feel free
to look through

http://newimc.indymedia.org
(and a few suggested corrections at
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/NewImcPageImprovements )

and maybe also contacting a few IMCs closest to you geographically
would be a good idea. (Try looking through
http://lists.indymedia.org )

Hopefully someone else from new-imc will contact you (otherwise
a gentle reminder to <new-imc at lists.indymedia.org> might be a good
idea after a reasonable delay).

solidarity
boud (IMC PL and new-imc volunteer)

We have a collective of about 20 people throughout the state, who are veteran activists, dedicated to Arkansas Indymedia. We have had one state-wide meeting in Little Rock, AR, and a lot of email collaboration. We already have our site up and running at http://arkansasdada.bandwidthcoop.org. We are going to have the graphic design set in place within the next couple days. At our statewide meeting, we accepted the \"Principals of Unity\" and \"Membership Criteria\" and developed our editorial policy and mission statement amoung other things. As soon as we join the global network, we will explode with growth, as many individuals and organziations around the state already have flyers, sickers, and other publicization tactics ready to go, once we get up and running fully.

We see our lives becoming markets for the capitalist monster to devour. We see the \"Natural State\" becoming a wasteland. Where there once was a community, there is now a corporate business district. Where there once was a forest, there is now a subdivision.

The IMC is designed to empower and give voice to the people of Arkansas, especially the voices and ideas marginalized by mainstream media. We will supply Arkansas with radical, passionate, intelligent, and accurate versions of stories and issues that link our communities to the world.

> We will do this in a non-heirarchical way that emphasizes collective decision-making, decentralized power, and a malleable structure. Our IMC will include diverse perspectives and expand awareness. Arkansas Indymedia is an avenue to building a network of communication and free information to help form the base of the movement that will overcome the wreckage left by capitalism.
