Hi, here is the translation of the mission statment and the editorial policy of indymedia nicaragua.

DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES (Mission statement) OF INDYMEDIA NICARAGUA 
Indymedia Nicaragua is part of an international independent media network. Indymedia Nicaragua tries:

*To take the freedom of speech to practice opening a space so that those individuals, groups, organizations who don’t  recognize themselves in the description of the reality made by the established mass media can express themselves freely.
* Creating independent media, Indymedia Nicaragua wants to question and to defy the simple and positive image that established mass media makes of the effects of economic globalization.
* To denounce violations to the human rights that are committed in the country and that the mass media ignore systematically.
* To question the treatment that the mass media give to different social groups in the country.
* To put social and aconomical issues at local and global level in the spotlight, mainly issues like solidarity, enviroment, human rights, equality of gender, peace, etc.
* To give a space so that new, radical tendencies working for change in the society can make themselves heard.
* To create a way to produce media free of economical interests and power hierarchies.
* Indymedia Nicaragua must do all the possible to avoid to commit the same  errors in which the commercial and state press falls and that we criticize.

EDITORIAL POLICY OF INDYMEDIA NICARAGUA:
Indymedia Nicaragua works under the open publishing principles, wich implies that any person can publish news and/or comment the published news. The editorial colective of Indymedia Nicaragua is going to remove from the site the news and commentaries that: 
* 1. - Contain racist, sexist, homofobic, xenofobic messages. 
* 2. - Are copies of already published articles.
* 3. – Are irrelevant to Indymedia Nicaragua according to our mission statement.
* 4. – Advertise  commercial products or are propaganda for a political party.
* 5. - They are obvious false, contain personal calumnies, threats or insults.
* 6. - Indymedia Nicaragua is a site of news, therefore we request that opinion articles are published under the pertinent section and debates or commentaries about the published news are including under the corresponding article using the button "add your own comments".
