Hey Randy et al!

Editorial policy is looking good. What you'll want to do now is talk about
the principles of unity
(http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/PrinciplesOfUnity) and the
membership criteria
(http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/MembershipCriteria) and come to
consensus on them point-by-point-- if you agree to each point, or disagree
and would like to open up a dialogue but will still join the network, or
disagree and want the document to be amended before your group joins the
network.

you also might want to write out a description of your decisionmaking
process like we in pittsburgh did
(http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/ImcPittsburghConsensus).

after this stuff is done, you can write a letter to this list outlining
all these things, and i'll get the ball rolling on the new-imc consensus
for yinz.

keep it up up there!
andy

I unfortunatly am leaving Erie to become a union organizer but I assure everyone here it is beng left in very capable hands. This email address (erieindymedia at yahoo.com) will be taken over by Amanda. She will be moderating the site along with our tech, Brett (paco at velocity.net) We have been focusing on getting our non-profit status so we can begin taking donations. We are cuuently exporing two options on this: 1. to umbrella under urbana-champaign or 2. to get our own non-profit status. We should be able to decide this at our next monthly meeting and get the process underway. We have a person that is interested it placing bill boards and bus signs around town with our URL on them.

Those who feel left out of the coverage by corporate media outlets are especially encouraged to post their news and events. There is an editorial collective that oversees and monitors Erie Indy Media (EIM) that is open to participation by anyone in the community that regularly attends EIM Monthly meetings. The dates of these meetings can be found by going to the participate section on the front page of the website.
