Hi Oll,

A group of people in Ghent has the firm intention
to start a section of Indymedia-Belgium, called
Indymedia-Vlaanderen (an "ethnic entity" in the
Northern part of Belgium).

I was at their first general meeting last Sunday
and openly supported the initiative, saying
that every opportunity to establish a    strong
anti-capitalist newsmedium should be backed.

Indy.vl should respect procedures though.
It not only has to address Indymedia-Global
to receive a green light for its website.

First (or, say at the same time - I don't want
to be formalist) it should at least notify Indymedia-Belgium
of its plans so that the complete Indy.be-collective
can at least have its say.

That this notification never has taken place tells a lot, I think,
about the true intentions, of the 3 or 4 "brains" behind Indy.vl.

My conclusion: I propose that we ask Indy-Global
not to give the go-ahead to Indy.vl
until Indy.be has been able to discuss the subject at
a general gathering (at the beginning of September
when most of us will be "back in towns and neighourhoods").
