Hello Majid,
Thanks for your letter. It helps us to confirm some
events, and to strengthen my understanding of what has
been happening. It definitely clears up many aspects of
reality.
I'm very happy you are working with Raida and with
Bassem. If you continue with Raida, I feel that
everything will be cleared up and there will be no more
confusion. I trust Raida implicitly. We need more and
more of these direct relationships between local/
regional activists who understand the real politics of
our eastern mediterranean and middle eastern region.
I am compiling a summary report, which itemizes some of
the facts which came up and were confirmed in this
week- long intense exchange of letters regarding the
relationship between indymedia, al-muajaha, and
"unknown factors". I am preparing it for the new-imc
working group, but it is available for whoever wants
it.
The "preliminary finding", is that our efforts to
create a presence in Iraq have been compromised. It's
still possible to reverse this. But, if known and
trusted members of indymedia do not take actively
responsible steps soon for the relationships we are
building in Baghdad, it won't be long before we become
(fair) targets of the local resistance, as some United
Nations "humanitarian aid operations" units are now
being targeted. I hope I am wrong.
Thanks again,
and the best of wishes,
oa-ssalamo 3alaykom,
Petros
