I need more info on what is needed as far as hardware goes.  We will however do all we can to do what ever the need is.  Part of our collective will be IT specialists.

outreach:
Nothing yet, because we don\'t know if this will work the way our constrains are. i.e. serving from outside the country.  Once the site is up and running, we have capability of publicizing for it via satelite radio stations such as BBC-Persian program.

introductory_statement:
The reason we want to set-up this site and we are willing to put our time is to provide a space that Iranian people and specially students who have access to internet can post news about Iran on the site.  As you know there is an opressive portion of the regime that works through the judiciary and closes down newspapers and independant media.  Recently they have arrested even web-logers who critisized the Islamic regime.  It is very important to have servers outside the country so that people can post their articles directly and annonymously to the site.  I have many questions of course, i.e. is it possible to have IMC as a bilingual site, because some of writers may not be able to write English, for which we volunteers in the US will do translations.  Also if IMC can support Persian then people without English knowledge can read it there too.  There are e-magazines in Persian outside the country, but we believe that independant news about Iran never makes it to the mainstre!

This is becoming very crucial as Bush administration and NeoCons are moving on their next step to attack Iran.  I have been working on bringing independant voices to American people through my radio show in Portland, OR via KBOO 90.7 fm and at www.voicesofthemiddleeast.com but now I want to open this venue to a larger audience and people from inside the country via IMC network.
