[New-imc] Online form: Proposed new IMC! (japanindymedia)

hi new-imc people,
   i'm delighted to see the initial application for IMC Japan!

Since kaori and paul forgot (or chose not) to include a list of
supporting groups and introductory statement, here's my brief point of
view.

There are more than 60 people mostly living in Japan, but some outside
of Japan, active on the

mailing list, particularly over the last few months or so. Many are
native Japanese speakers, many are native English speakers. Many live
in or near Tokyo and have had several face-to-face meetings; some
live in the Kansai (Osaka/Kyoto/etc.) region. The activists are
involved in many grassroots networks, including, for example,
"Tokyo Progressive", "ZNet Japan", and others, who the IMC Japan
people can list better than i can. They're actively involved in 
supporting anti-war stuff.

The group is doing a lot on getting a web site up and running:

but is aware that it needs to deal with organising issues like
decision-making, editorial policy, global liaisons, and other things
in the membership criteria.

i'm sure that whenever they feel ready, they will send us:

- list of grassroots groups which IMC Japan volunteers are active in 
- description of outreach done and/or planned

- response to the membership criteria
- editorial policy
- mission statement

In any case, i'm convinced the group is well on its way to 
becoming a solid and sustainable group!
