   i'm a volunteer in the new-imc working group (my local group
is IMC Poland).

of the process of IMC Cairo joining the network:

We understand that many people in Cairo are worried about security,
but having at least one mailing list which is fully open would make it
easier to develop Indymedia style communication. Please read:

i suggest you have at least one fully open mailing list, e.g.

imc-cairo

where people who feel "safe" with their email addresses can discuss
with each other, with people from other IMCs in the Eastern Mediterranean
region (like petros!) and with people from the wider network who wish
to be supportive, e.g. help set up a web site. 

You might also want to have a more "secure" list, but remember that
anonymity in the internet is only relative, not absolute. i'm not
sure what name might be good, maybe
