The DNS working group just handles the technical aspect of setting up  
domain names for the indymedia network. But to join the indymedia  
network you first need to go through a political process to educate  
your collective about what indymedia is, how to participate in the  
indymedia network, and folks to determine if your collective is a good  
fit for the indymedia network.

We do this because we have had problems in the past with groups  
becoming indymedia centers but not upholding the values of indymedia.  
Or because groups wanted the indymedia name but were really doing a  
different kind of project.

You should read through the website at http://newimc.indymedia.org and  
follow the instructions there for joining the indymedia network. There  
are instructions in a number of languages including spanish and  
portugese. I think it would be good for you to contact the people with  
indymedia barcelona as they can help you get started.
