Sorry about the delay with the outreach update. It's still rather
incomplete, as some people have not weighed in

Summary of Rogue IMC outreach:

------
Outeach I have been involved with includes talking at meetings of the
following organizations (sometimes with accompanying handouts):

Oregon Action
PeaceHouse
Southern Oregon Central Labor Council
SEIU 503, Local 084 (215 classifed workers at Southern Oregon University)
Jackson County Pacific Green Party
Southern Oregon Citizens Against Hate Radio
ASJE, Alliance for Sustainable Jobs and the Environment
UPPNET, Union Producers and Programmers Network

Speaking with reporters of local newspapers by myself and others has led to
stories that mention our Rogue IMC (with website listed) appearing in the
following dailys in S. Oregon:

Ashland Daily Tidings
Medford Mail Tribune

------

My outreach has been distributing fliers at local demonstrations, talking to
friends and locals in personal conversations, announcing the Rogue IMC
website and meetings at Peace House and spokescouncil meetings, as well as
at the David Barsamian lecture which was very well-attended. All of the
outreach included not only mentioning the website, but the meeting times and
locations of Rogue IMC so that people could get involved.

I've also put the Rogue IMC address (www.rogueimc.org) on a few posters that
were widely distributed around town for various events against the invasion
of Iraq.

I too have done quite a bit of outreach. Here's a short list, by no means
complete:
Fliers at Starbucks and other "mainstream" locations.
Made public announcements of rogueimc.org at:
PeaceHouse Action committee meetings.
David Barsamian's visit to Southern Oregon University.
Peace Rallies at Ashland, Oregon's Plaza.
Made mention of rogueimc.org at Ashland Fiber Network Citizens Programming
Committee.
Made prominent link to Rogue IMC on my website which is in signature of
dozens of outgoing e-mails every day.
Brought visitors to weekly meetings who have become involved members.
Participated in and promoted "Training Day" activity.

------

- I've spoken to many people before the creation, about an IMC in the
area
- I've talked about the IMC at Mazama Forest Defense meetings, and
Spokescouncil meetings
- I and others have given interviews for the local paper (daily tidings)
on 2 seperate occasions about this (2 articles in the local paper have
been about us and featured the website address)
- I've made copies and passed out 1/4 sheets at events
- I have tried to educate a number of people who have approached me
about the IMC about what it is

I admit I've done less outreach than many others because I have invested
a great deal of time in the website.

Other outreach I'm aware of:

Paddy - has announced the Rogue IMC at the Evo's Wide Awake Film Forum she
hosts
Damon & Isaac - have distributed Rogue IMC fliers at local demos
Brush - has announced the Rogue IMC at local anti-war demonstrations
John - Has announced the Rogue IMC at the local Green Party meetings
Joe - has frequently put ads for the Rogue IMC in the Southern Oregon
University Media Collective publication, the Soapbox, with both the web
address and meeting time/location displayed, has also done outreach to
UNETE, a local immigrant farmworkers group

I also know that many people have been doing a lot of simple, informal,
word-of-mouth outreach and that has paid off with a ton of newswire activity
that speaks for itself: http://www.rogueimc.org
