Hi,

Imc belgium never was in favour of turning itself into a Brussels local 
collective. What the general assembly of September decided was to 
support the creation of local collectives in Belgium, to give them time 
to develop and work efficiently, and to reconsider the proposal of an 
adapted syndication site after year or so.

The new collective in Brussels is composed of people who have experience 
in Indymedia work and of people totally new to the project. Informal 
contacts were taken with several people of the existing imc's and the 
topic was mentionned in discussions with members of imc-be. A call to
people interested in local work in the Brussels area was made on 
the belgian common list.

The range of reactions went from great enthusiasm to total opposition.

Everybody interested in the local work in Brussels is welcome and 
invited to join the new collective. A common meeting will be organized 
with everybody involved in the area, that is mainly imc-be and 
imc-molenbeek, since we obviously need to agree on the basis of a 
collaboration with each other. An invitation will be sent on the .be 
list and on the Molenbeek list if there is such a list and, if not, to 
the new-imc requestor.
