Hello everybody,
I've been doing some reading up on the imc pilipinas situation and it
looks like it has been a long and difficult road between the first
contact and the proposal of these documents and a seems to have
changed. So maybe its time for a bit of freshing up.
It looks like a lot of time and effort was put into the composition of
these documents, yet i cannot find any indication of how these documents
came to exists, so maybe it might be a good idea to add a little
someting about what must have been (one of) the first decision(s) that
were made: the decision making process/procedure.
Also it might be an idea to list up the members/affinity groups within
the collective . This is a good example

it doesn't have to be quite that extensive.
I don't know much about the activist scene in the Philipines, so i just
might see it all wrong, but i cannot think of many grassroots groups,
networks or organisations in Europa that would want to get
assiciated/affiliated with an initaitive that produced a document using
words like "anti-imperialist", "propagandist" or "nationalist", so that
explains my request for clarification on that point.

its still just a proposal, but some other imc's-to-be are allready
making it part of their process, it might prove helpfull if question B
has to be answered with a no and its bothering you.
To close for now maybe these tips/suggestions could be helpful with
regards to the edito policy, just a few suggestions based on experience,
there is no need to struggle with problems other collectives have
struggled with before you if there are ways to avoid those by taking
their experrience into consideration.
"The editorial team shall correct inaccurate posts, i.e. posts
containing incorrect information. " It might be a good idea to add that
the author will be notified if he leaves a way of contacting him, and
maybe encourage posters to leave a contact e-mail adress or phonenumber.
"*- Disruptive :* contributions by individuals who habitually publish
above-mentioned discouraged content, or comments unrelated to published
articles." This point may need working out a little, it could lead to
huge fights within the collective if postings get hidden because of
their author and not their content. So maybe this could be worked out al
little more in depth.
Under "comments" : "State an opinion about any given posting"
This could lead to flamewars and result in an enourmous workload for
the admins. Imc's that used to allow those type of comments are coming
back from it because they cannot cope with the workload and the bad
atmosphere it may create in the imc (overworked collective) and in the
local action scene (people that used to work well togheter who refuse to
cooperate with each other because of the flamewars, its much easyer to
pass the "point of no return" in a virtual environement than it is in
face to face communication) So i suggest you either encourage people to
reply by writing their own article or a very tight and strict
moderation, it takes nearly round the clock moderation to avoid things
getting out of hand.

in the process.
