Some people in the group have basic programming experience. Knowledge of C++, php/mysql, html/css, wiki, video/image editing is available. The testsite at www.indymedia-vlaanderen.org (Dada software) will be probably be used for OVL. More technical information:

outreach:
All of the meetings of VL were broadly announced. We had 4 meetings in 4 different cities to attract also people from those cities. A lot of people showed interest and attended the meetings of VL, still the group being actively involved did not seem to grow.

We’ll spread an e-mail and flyers to announce the first OVL-meeting in Ghent (2nd of november).


introductory_statement:
On its last general meeting the VL collective has decided to change its regional focus towards the province of East-Flanders (Oost-Vlaanderen). A majority of the people involved in VL is living in the province of East-Flanders.
This means we support the tendency towards decentralisation and localisation of the Belgian Indymedia landscape. We will strive for a good coöperation with other local IMC’s in Belgium (including portal site, coördination of features, translation, outreach and so on).

We will take with us to OVL the work that has been done for VL (of course important texts will be discussed again on the meetings of OVL). This includes the testsite (tech, translation, info documents etc.), the elaboration of a decision making process, editorial policy, mission statement, and of course our personal experiences.
