Many years of experience doing alternative media, including the publishing of magazines, working for a major publisher, participating in existing IMCs, involvement in the IMC network, local media activist including original reporting on local issues, and a network of local media activists. Server and bandwidth issues can be arranged.

outreach:
No outreach yet, but outreach will be done to motivate the alienated local activist community into supporting Indymedia again. Connections will be made with other independent local media with the understanding that Indymedia isn\'t the only alternative media game in town.

introductory_statement:
Washington, DC has one of the oldest IMCs in the Indymedia network. While they are doing good media activism, the chemistry of the current collective is alienating to local activists and they really don\'t have any support in local communities. This project is being proposed because a city of over 2 million should be able to support multiple IMCs, especially when that city has lots of media activists already.
