introductory_statement:
Corporate dominance of media is one of the most important, and all encompassing issues facing activists working for social change in modern times.  Corporate controlled media can push out local DJ’s, destroy community driven projects, and create media monopolies of consumerist ideals.   
 
     Indy media is the opposite of that, and a struggle against all that we are fighting against.  It is a free serving of vegan food in the sea of McDonalds, a breezy bike ride in a sky of smog, and a burning building in a city of apathy.
