We have enough technical knowledge and experience to maintain a website, and proficient people who would be willing to assist us if this proves inadequate. In terms of organizing, we have an active and growing list of people who are interested in contributing to our IMC. There is an outstanding amount of community enthusiasm at the prospect of an IMC being established in Indiana.

outreach:
Not only is there a mailing list for people interested in establishing the IMC, there are people in multiple cities across Indiana who are in contact with us and eager to work with us on bringing corporate-free news to the state. This IMC is long overdue, the people are waiting. In addition, we are planning to make special effort to have dialogue with minority groups here in Bloomington, and around the state as well if possible.

introductory_statement:
Bloomington Indymedia is a collective of independent media organizers: people who have come together to offer grassroots coverage of news and events. We are part of a diverse group of concerned people who feel that
corporate interests dominate the coverage of news events. We work in a non-hierarchical way that emphasizes collective decision making, decentralized power, and a malleable organizational structure. Our
primary focus is on the South Central region of Indiana but we also relate stories from the world at-large, wherever the truth demands to be revealed. We provide a news outlet for the Bloomington community and others in order to help local people create their own media platform and enable them to report on their own activities and events without
censorship or mass media misrepresentation. Since our real-person reporting conveys the immediate reality of a situation, we do not pretend to be impersonally \"objective.\" For too long, \"objectivity\" has
enabled journalists to avoid reporting the truth by permitting them to merely echo Establishment bias rather than to question authority in service of the broader public interest.
