Hello Kevin,

Welcome to our efforts to expand IndyMedia!

As you probably know, the struggles of the Armenian people
for survival and liberation have been historically and my
necessity linked to the same struggles of the peoples of
Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus, and others in the region. I'd
like to recommend that you also contact our IndyMedia groups
there, in the interest of building more internationalist
solidarity among our people, especially those of us working
on Indymedia projects.

I'd recommend contacting:
imc-istanbul, thessaloniki, athens, cyprus, and
eastern-mediterranean. And also I'd recommend publishing
Armenia- related stories and articles at any of those imc
groups' Open Publishing facilities, until we get the
imc-armenia group approved.

In terms of the request for an "expedited process" I feel
that slower is more secure, and gives us a chance to develop
our politics together, and to clarify who is who.

In reference to the support given by Shayne to the idea of
creating an imc-armenia website, now, and to even run
stories from there as IndyMedia Feature articles, I say
this: there's always someone among us willing to rush, and
will always find some precedent to justify it. But making a
mistake in the past, does not justify making a mistake in
the future.

IndyMedia is not a website, it is network of radical
activists and free media activists, it is the unofficial
organ of expression of the global movement against the
expansion of corporate and state domination of the planet.

Let's build a good solid relationship with the imc-armenia
group first, let's get it formed as a collective and
approved first, and *then* start with official websites and
Feature articles.

Petros,
Cyprus IndyMedia Collective
