we can host the luxemburgish site and all it\'s content on our own server, the server is hosted by youthmedia a luxemburgish youth organisation spezialized in media. We could also install mirrors of international files, like movies, audio reports ...

We have created a mailinglist where all the diskussions about the idea have been discussed. We tried an still try to involve local organizations in this project.

introductory_statement:
Two years ago in luxembourg, three organizations started to try to find new ways to distribute their informations. The internet seemed to be the cheapest way to distribute a lot of articles along as pictures and videos. We created our first site www.infoladen.lu a local independant news site. Then a lot of organizations started to post their news on that site and more smaller topic-related-websites were created, like www.natur.lu (topic: nature/environment) / www.ichhassees.lu (anti fastfood) / www.terror.lu (topic: peace/terror) / www.act4cannabis.lu (topic: drugs) / www.act4school.lu (education) / ... One year later we had a fully functional group of 30 people that tried to fill the sites with news, articles, photos and videos. That year we also found out that there was an site www.indymedia.org who had a similar idea but with a global and more professional touch. Indymedia.org and its local imc were a great source of information for us, and we started to publish articles f
 ound at indymedia on our own sites. Then more and more luxemburgish organizations and people started to post their own stuff at indymedia. Today a lot of luxemburgish organizations have to post there articles on infoladen and at indymedia if they want to be sure that everybody has acces to them, this is a lot of work. So we had the idea to create a local indymedia site, where all the luxemburgish organizations could post their stuff. Indymedia is very well known for it\'s independant coverage even here in luxemburg, so it will be easier to explain the idea behind a local organizations.  www.infoladen.lu will be closed if our request is accepted, and our team will start to open a local indymedia site. We also bought www.indymedia.lu and will add a forwarder to lu.indymedia.org as soon as it\'s online. We have digital cameras, audio recording material and computers in our office that will be made avaible to everybody that wants to use it to produce stuff for lu.indymedia.oeg a
 nd the global network.
