(spanish below)

Hello Kim

My name is Pablo and I work with the new-imc list.

The regular process to form a new IMC is the following:

* Read the documents linked at the new imc webpage (http://newimc.indymedia.org).
* Fill out the form at the bottom of the http://newimc.indymedia.org page.
* Open a mailing list for the local group at http://newlist.indymedia.org
* Write a mission statement and an editorial policy for the new IMC.
* Read and reply to each of the MembershipCriteria points one by one, and send to new-imc at indymedia.org
* If the new IMC passes new-imc, goes to the imc-process and imc-communication lists. After this step, the new Center is accepted and becomes part of the Indymedia Network.

Details for this information can be found, in different languages, at http://newimc.indymedia.org.

I believe there's no need for them to submit the information in english. There are people willing to translate whatever they can. Though, it is good if they could send the info both in spanish and english.

If you need any help, just ask. If the people from Bolivia prefer to get in touch with someone speaking in spanish, then you can give them my email address.

Peace.

Pablo.

Hola Kim

Paz

Pablo.

  Subject: [New-imc] bolivia ...

hey. a new bolivia-indymedia wishes to form, a hundred miles from La Paz, they are getting their proposal together.

any procedural things they need to know about?? does all the stuff need to be submitted in english? shall i have them send me their stuff first or ???

thanx, kim, portland-indymedia ... below is the beginning info about this project ...

  Subject: Warisata

  > The Warisata project (in which Chalo, key contact for Bolivia-Indymedia, is aware of): Warisata IndyMedia.
  >
  > 1. Warisata is one the aymara communities where confrontations with the military took place last
  > October. It's about one hour from La Paz, near Titicaca lake... in a region considered the heartland
  > of the aymara nation.
  >
  > 2. It has this school for rural teachers (where they are trained to be bilingual teachers) that arrive from
  > all over Bolivia. The "Normal de Warisata" was founded in the early 30's and it was the first indigenous, and
  > community, project of this kind in Bolivia's history...
  >
  > 3. The school for rural teachers was set there not casually, because the aymara people consider Warisata
  > as their "Athens", the centrum of his culture...
  >
  > 4. So given these conditions, it would be very good to have an Indymedia there: it would be a very motivated center, with > young people from many places (especially from all the corners of the aymara territory) reporting every week the news > > from inside...
  >
  > Well, I began talkings with the leaders of the region Warisata is located. And they are very interested in having their own > indigenous IMC... the Normal is involved in the project... but, as usual, they don't have a dime for this ...
  >
  > Be aware I'm talking here about almost everything is needed: computers, money for the shipment, tech assistance... they
  > only have enough room inside the Normal, there is a chance to have a good Internet connection (no money for this either),
  > disposition to pay some expenses (electricity, structural arrangements), and lots of people willing to have their own
  > media...
  >
  > As for the ayamara people, in the next days they will be sending official letters from them (the leaders and the
  > Normal) asking for help to set up their IMC...
