Here is one thing I left out, the url of miami imc is miamiimc.org , there
is a site up that people can feel free to peruse. They are still working
out tech issues.
I was emailed off list that more information needed to be provided, as far
as I could read in the new-imc docs, to apply an imc needed a mission
statement and to respond to the pou. They are working od ed. policy

>> What kind of resources can you contribute, in terms of
>> server/bandwidth/technical and organizing skills?
>>
>> The Miami IMC group is comprised of community activists and organizers,
>> video- and radio-graphers, photographers, writers, and tech/web people.
>>
>> What kind of outreach have you done to bring together a diverse group of
>> people?
>>
>> We've been meeting for over three months now, working to build bridges
>> between the Cuban/other Hispanic communities and white activists. We
>> are
>> also working on bringing in members of the Haitian and African American
>> communities. Many of us are involved in or have connections with

>> Miami Workers Center, Power U, anti-war and peace & justice groups, the
>> NLG, the ACLU, etc., etc.
>> Of particular interest to us is further outreach into the unique
>> Latin-American communities that make Miami unique.
>>
>> Please write an introductory statement about why you want to participate
>> in
>> the Indymedia Network (see above).
>>
>> All of us are strongly devoted to the concept of independent media as a
>> vehicle for PEOPLE (as distinct from corporations) to reach out to other
>> people. We are all also dedicated to the consensus approach of working
>> through solutions together, not polarizing into splinter groups in which
>> majorities take all.
>>
>> outreach portion of the application:
>>
>> We are developing mechanisms to encourage broader participation in the
>> movement on a regular basis. Leadership should not be unilateral nor
>> control
>> central. Our multi-racial, multi-cultural movement should evolve from
>> the
>> bottom up and not the top down.
>> Original missions and goals have to be taken into account. Our mission
>> statement states: We are committed to the indymedia model of
>> non-hierarchical, consensus decision-making that includes ethnically,
>> racially and socially diverse perspectives.
>> Miami has an unique ethnic and cultural make up. Our outreach efforts
>> are
>> focused on bringing in members of currently under represented people in
>> our
