  My name is Martha P. Blake and I am a citizen of White Salmon, Washington, part of the Columbia River Gorge area.  I am thrilled to have found this site and I would like to start a project for my area, the Columbia River Gorge, which is composed of several small towns in Oregon and Washington, along the Columbia River. Among these towns are,

  White Salmon, WA
  Bingen, WA
  Hood River, OR
  The Dalles, OR
  Goldendale, WA
  Cascade Locks, OR
  Troutlake, WA
  Stevenson, WA
  Lyle, WA
  And other smaller towns that do not have newspapers.  The largest newspapers are the White Salmon Enterprise, The Dalles Chronicle, The Hood River News, The Goldendale Sentinel and the Skamania County Pioneer, all of which are actually very small newspapers published on a weekly basis.

  I would love to see this project take form, and I am more than happy to serve as list administrator, because I see the need in my area to have a more immediate source of news and a need to cover many subjects, especially of community interest, that do not get covered in the local newspapers.

  I hope that you will review and approve my request to form a chapter here in the Columbia River Gorge.  I look forward to your reply.
