introductory_statement:
As we all know, Indymedia has become an infinite resource for activists. The already established Utah Indymedia doesn\'t seem to fit the criteria for what many activists in this area feel are needed. It has also seemed to fall behind in it\'s activities lately, as the most recent updates are months behind. We\'d like to propose the establishment of a new Indymedia for the Salt Lake City community; one that will be actively reporting on local events that are important to all ranges of activists, instead of a small portion of the community.

resources:
I am well-versed in dynamic html, php, flash, graphic design, etc. The collective also has others with web skills, journalism skills, and we all have been active in various other collectives which have given great organizing skills and resources. 

outreach:
We currently have a strong backing of 25 volunteer journalists, etc. A flyer and poster campaign has been underway for the last month, encouraging people to get involved which has proven successful.

identity_makeup:
Salt Lake has a unique collection of mainly youth activists, and our collective reflects that diversity with people of color, wimmin, gay & lesbian, trans/genderqueer, and varying political, spiritual and religious backgrounds. Reguardless of backgrounds, we are all dedicated to the pursuit of quality and non-biased reporting. 

steps_represent_diversity:
Any shortcomings in our journalism will constantly be addressed in our meetings and solutions will be sought after on a regular basis. 

steps_involve_new_workfields:
Our collective has excellent networking abilities since we are each involved in different projects. As far as division of labor based on gender, the wimmin involved in the collective are strong, and have demonstrated that patriarchy has no place in our movement or our activities, and the men have demonstrated that they have the ability and drive to analyze their issues and take care of them.
